With HomeKit support: Koogeek multiple socket comes to Europe

For European HomeKit users, a new accessory will be available in the coming month: Koogeek is bringing its HomeKit-compatible multiple socket to Europe this year.

The range of available HomeKit products is also growing in Europe, and today the Chinese brand Koogeek announced an expansion of its range: a European version of the HomeKit-compatible multiple socket will be launched on the market in the coming months. The device has been available in the USA for $50 for some time and has three plugs and three USB ports.

Control via Siri or the App
After the initial setup, which is very simple via Apple's Home App, the sockets can be installed either directly from there, via Siri or via the Koogeek Home App*. The manufacturer's own app also contains information on the power consumption of the individual devices, enabling power guzzlers in standby mode to be identified very quickly. The cable of the multiple socket is 1.5 metres long, the socket is designed for up to 3000 watts.

Communication with HomeKit, Alexa and Google Home takes place via an integrated WLAN module. For remote access and extended automation, an Apple TV*, HomePod* or iPad* is required in the home network as a so-called HomeHub. An exact date for the start of sales and the selling price of the socket are not yet known.

Koogeek is currently one of the cheapest HomeKit providers, but will face competition from Xiaomi Aqara in this segment in the future. At the beginning of the year we introduced a single socket and an LED lamp from Koogeek, all details can be found here.
